Respite care offers a welcome break for individuals, carers, family and friends who may be involved with looking after a loved one with learning disabilities.

Whitwood Care is able to offer respite care in one week blocks (minimum one week) in our purpose-built self-contained flats within The Fold at Whitwood Grange.

Our referral/acceptance criteria for respite is the same as any service user at Whitwood Care, i.e. service users must have a primary diagnosis of learning disability and display behaviour that challenges more main-stream placements. In particular we specialise in placing service users who have previously found it difficult to find a placement in mainstream services.

Support is provided by a small, specialised care team who have many years experience and are well placed to respond and adapt to the immediate needs of our service users.
